You have five thousand photos of the dog and none of the two of you together, because the dog will not look at the camera when you are holding it. Pet and owner photos from the Studio combine a photo of you in a scene with a photo of your pet, placing the animal beside you with matching light, scale and shadow.
You want the photo of you and your animal that the animal has been refusing to pose for since you brought it home. Nobody has to be in the same room: separate photos go in, and pet and owner photos come out with every face and every coat kept exactly recognizable. Reshoot pet and owner photos in a second scene for the holiday card, keep both on the contact sheet, and upscale whichever one the family votes for.

Which photo goes first?
The scene photo of you goes in the first slot; the pet's photo goes in the second. The Studio keeps your setting and places the animal into it.
Can I choose where the pet sits?
The Studio picks a natural position — at your feet, on the sofa beside you. Describe a change afterwards to AI Photo Editor: "the dog's head on my lap".
Do the photos need to be taken at the same time?
No. Each photo can come from a different day, camera and place. The Studio re-lights and re-scales everyone to the chosen scene, which is what makes pet and owner photos possible at all.
