Glasses and cameras have a difficult relationship: a window, a ring light or a flash turns lenses into mirrors and hides the most important part of a portrait. Glasses Glare Removal clears the reflections and restores the eyes behind the lenses. The frames are kept exactly as they are — shape, color, thickness, the way they sit on the nose — and so is the rest of the face, so the result is the same photo with the eyes readable again rather than a photo of a different pair of glasses.

It handles the common cases: bright rectangular window reflections, the double halo of a ring light, the milky sheen of an overcast sky, and the blown-out patch from an on-camera flash. Partial glare, where one eye is clear and the other is not, is rebuilt from the visible eye and the face. Tinted and photochromic lenses keep their tint; only the reflection layer is removed. Works on headshots, ID-style photos and group shots alike, and preserves the aspect ratio of the original.

A Standard run costs 4 credits and finishes in seconds. Pro and Max finishes render iris detail and lens edges more precisely for large headshots. Glare removal is usually the first step in a retouch chain — clear the lenses, then Face Retouch, then Perfect Smile — and it is a must before a Passport Photo, where reflections that hide the eyes are grounds for rejection. Compare against the original before you download.

Good to know

Does it remove the glasses?

No — the whole point is to keep them. If you want the glasses gone entirely, ask AI Photo Editor to remove them instead.

What if the glare covers both eyes completely?

The Studio reconstructs the eyes from the face, brows and lid shape. Results are strongest when at least part of one eye is visible, but fully hidden eyes are handled too.

Will tinted sunglasses be cleared?

Reflections on sunglasses are reduced, but dark tint is kept and the eyes stay behind it. For eyes to be visible, the lenses need to be clear or lightly tinted.

Is this good enough for a passport photo?

It removes the glare that passport offices reject. Run Passport Photo afterwards for the correct format, background and expression.

Can I try Glasses Glare Removal without paying?

Yes. A new account comes with 4 free credits — one Standard run of Glasses Glare Removal or any other tool — and no card is needed.
