Do I need a scanner?
No. A sharp phone photo of the print, taken flat in even light without glare, works well. A 600 dpi scan gives the Studio more to work with for large prints.
Will it change how the people look?
No. Faces, expressions and period detail are preserved; only damage and fading are repaired. Use the compare toggle to check every restoration against the scan.
Are restored family photos from the Studio accepted officially?
The files meet the published specifications for size, background, expression and lighting, and many authorities accept them. Some require photos taken in person, so check the current rules for your application.
